Job Vacancy: Sports Bar Assistant – Sandburn Hall, North Yorkshire

Rate of pay: Up to £12.75 per hour (dependent on age & experience)

Working Hours: Part-time, Permanent (flexible hours including days, evenings, and weekends)

Start Date: Immediate

We are currently seeking a Sports Bar Assistant to join the team at Sandburn Hall, a fast-paced, family-run business. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your enthusiasm and energy to a unique golf, hotel, restaurant and events venue.

Primarily based within our Golf Clubhouse and Sports Bar, you will play a key role in delivering a warm Yorkshire welcome and excellent customer service to both members and guests.

Shifts will include days, evenings, and weekends (late finishes up to 10pm during summer months). Weekends are essential for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Welcoming members and guests, assisting with enquiries
• Serving food and drinks
• Delivering excellent customer service
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across bar and service areas
• Supporting the running of societies, competitions, and events
• Working closely with the golf team and other departments
• Assisting with cashing up and closing procedures
• Supporting the Sports Bar Manager and wider team as required

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Previous bar or hospitality experience is preferred (full training provided)
• A passion for hospitality (an interest in golf or sport is a bonus)
• Strong attention to detail and high personal standards
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A proactive and flexible approach to working hours
• A strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Sandburn Hall is a family-run, independent leisure business that opened in 2005. Located in Flaxton, just off the A64 and approximately 8 miles from York, the estate sits within over 1,000 acres of lakes and woodland.

Today, Sandburn Hall incorporates a 40-bedroom hotel (opened in 2021), an 18-hole golf course, Sports Bar, Tykes Restaurant, and a range of event spaces.
